IBF: A New Look, A New Philosophy


As you have noticed, the International Bonsai Forum has undergone many changes in appearance and layout. We have changed the visual appearance of the forum, using a new color scheme and theme to enhance to viewing pleasure of our members. We have also changed the forum layout, incorporating new sections and forums that will encompass many areas of bonsai discussion, while retaining the many quality threads and posts made in the past.

On the back end, we have switched over to a more user friendly phpbb forum format and moved to a new server that is not only faster, but which also allows us to maintain a efficient and secure environment, for our members.

We have also reevaluated the philosophy of the forum and are now committed to providing a quality discussion forum for members of all experience levels from around the world.

True to its name, the International Bonsai Forum is an international bonsai discussion forum geared solely toward the discussion of bonsai related subjects by enthusiasts from around the world. Although it is an English language forum, many of our members are from non-English speaking countries and English is not their primary language, considering this, we are very tolerant and understanding of less than perfect English usage, after all, bonsai is the language we all share.

We encourage not only discussion of all bonsai related subjects, but also questions concerning any aspect of bonsai, the only dumb question is the one that is unasked. It is our goal to maintain an environment where the beginner, the intermediate, the expert, and the master level bonsaist can learn from each other and make the world bonsai community a little better by sharing our passion, our knowledge and our love of the art with each other.

All forum rules center on one word, “respect” and with that word in mind, we hope you enjoy the new International Bonsai Forum; we look forward to engaging in discussions with you, because we know that everyone has something to learn, as well as to teach.
